Anointed John Chronicles #88: All material gain is not a blessing. Not all money is worth making, and easy money guarantees much trouble in the end. I know many of us believe that we are blessed because of the material things that we have been able to accumulate, and we see it as a sign that God is pleased with us so he has allowed us to gain much.

That is the case sometimes but there is also a scenario where God allows you to gain as much as your heart desires, but it is not his favor that you are experiencing, but His wrath. Solomon points this out in the Book of Ecclesiastes, where there were two men, one who was poor and another who was Rich. In Solomon's observation of their lives, he exclaims that he saw a poor man who didn't have much, but God had given him the ability to enjoy everything that he had. He also saw a rich man who had all his heart's desire and more, but God did not give that man the ability to enjoy any of the wealth that he has accumulated. My question to you is which one of these men was experiencing the favor of God and which one of the men was experiencing the wrath of God.

I'll tell you the truth: if you don't have much but God gives you the ability to enjoy that little bit to the fullest, you are blessed and highly favored of the Lord. If you are rich and you have all that your heart desires and you cannot enjoy any of it, then you are under God's judgment and experiencing His wrath.

The favor of God is not in stuff and things; it is in the ability to have joy and peace with what you have. If you don't have much, stop being envious of those who do because you do not want the level of stress and anxiety that comes along with having much. They can't handle it, and neither can you. As I believe,r our ambition can never be driven by material wealth.

We must strive for Spiritual wealth, so if we're fortunate to have any material wealth, we never allow our will to desire for it to exceed our desire for the Lord.

Example 1: Numbers 11 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

Remember when the children of Israel were in the wilderness, complaining about eating manna every day. They said they were tired of eating the mana. They said they were better off as slaves in Egypt than they were free on their way to the promised land. Their desire for meat showed how ungrateful they were with what God had provided for them. God granted their request for meat, and they ate as much as their hearts desired, but before they could get comfortable disrespecting God, he struck many of them down. Why, you may ask, because their love for material gain exceeded their love for God.

Example 2: Matthew 19:16-22 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

Remember the rich man who asked Jesus what he must do to gain eternal life. Jesus told him to obey the commandments, to which he replied, “I have been doing that since my youth.” Jesus told him you lack one thing. When Jesus told him the one thing, he lacked was to sell all that he had and give it to the poor. The rich man walked away with his head down in disappointment because he had too much love for his earthly riches to give them up for eternal wealth. His love for material gain exceeded his love for God. This is where Jesus tells his disciples that it would be easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it would be for a rich man to get into heaven.

Example 3: Matthew 26:14-16 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

The most infamous case of a man's desire for material gain exceeded his love for God.  Judas stole away to meet with the Chief Priest out how much could he gain from selling out Jesus., The word tells us the unjust she'll never prosper. Judas did not prosper or gain anything from selling out Jesus.

Don't let your job cause you to sell out Jesus. Don't let the material wealth cause you to sell out Jesus. Don’t let your influential circle cause you to sell out Jesus. Don’t let your love for your children cause you to sell out Jesus. Don't you let the love of your spouse cause you to sell out Jesus. I know I was talking about the Love of Money causing us to go astray but we can't leave out our love for people because these relationships also make us feel wealthy.
