The Absurdity of Doing Evil to Produce Good Post #4 – All Things Permissible… Not All Things Beneficial
One of the most dangerous distortions of grace is the belief that because something is allowed, it must also be good. But Scripture warns us that freedom without discipline quickly becomes another form of slavery.
“All things are permissible for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are permissible for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything.” — 1 Corinthians 6:12
“They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to depravity. For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.” — 2 Peter 2:19
The Apostle Paul teaches that just because something is possible does not mean it is profitable. Freedom is not an invitation to indulge the flesh or dance at the edge of sin — it is a sacred trust that must be stewarded with wisdom. The real question is not “Can I do this?” but “Should I?” and “Will this bring me closer to Yahuah or enslave me again?”
Too many mistake permissibility for righteousness, but the fruit of such choices exposes their true nature: addiction, bondage, confusion, and distance from
Yahuah. True freedom is not the absence of restraint — it is the power to resist the very things that seek to master you.
Yahuah has not called His people to walk at the edge of sin but to flee from it. He has not delivered us from slavery just for us to return with chains of our own choosing. Grace liberates, but wisdom sustains that liberty.
🔥 Reflection: Are there things in your life that are “permissible” but are quietly mastering you? Does your freedom draw you closer to Yahuah — or deeper into bondage?
