The Absurdity of Doing Evil to Produce Good Post #6 – The Deception of False Freedom

Scripture:

“They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to depravity. For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.” — 2 Peter 2:19 There is a kind of “freedom” that is no freedom at all. It speaks loudly of liberation, but its chains are simply invisible. It offers permission without transformation, indulgence without accountability — and it leads those who follow it deeper into bondage than before.

This is the false freedom the prophets warned of: a counterfeit liberty that excuses sin instead of delivering from it, that celebrates rebellion instead of repentance. It promises release while tightening the grip of depravity around the soul.

True freedom is not the absence of restraint — it is the presence of righteousness. It is not found in doing whatever the flesh desires, but in being set free from the tyranny of sin to walk in obedience to Yahuah. Yahshua said, “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin… but if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:34–36)

Many today preach a freedom that denies this truth. They reject the refining fire of obedience and call it “grace.” They despise discipline and call it “authenticity.” But this false freedom is itself slavery — a gilded cage that leads only to ruin.

Real freedom is costly. It demands that we crucify the flesh, submit our will, and walk by the Spirit. It breaks chains — not so we can sin more comfortably, but so we can serve Yahuah without hindrance. Anything less is deception, and those who preach it are themselves mastered by the very sins they promise others freedom from.
